Necklace or Ear Ring Tower

Here are two recent pieces I made. They are meant for a lady to hang her necklaces or ear rings from.

I never make 2 of the same thing, but in this case they are different enough that I didn’t mind making two.

The bases are, from left, purple heart and walnut. The upright pieces are, from left, Caragana wood from Canada and Brazil nut wood from Brazil. The caragana was just as purple as the base when I started turning it. It probably reacts to light to become purple again.

The brass finials are antique pieces I have saved for a long time for just such a project. These are now the property of my wife, as are most of the things I make.
